These recommended school supplies will ensure the best start for your fourth grader:
A homework folder with pockets that is heavy weight, ideally plastic
1 3-subject spiral bound notebook, about 100-120 pages
2-3 dry erase markers (thin black is best)
3 glue sticks, to be shared by the class
1 pair of scissors
1 package colored pencils
1 package markers (thin or thick, not both)
24 sharpened #2 pencils, to be shared by class
1 hand-held, non-electric pencil sharpener
optional: 1 thin black sharpie
1 small container in which you can keep all your supplies (no bigger than 9 x 6 x 2 in)
whiteboard eraser (an old sock or piece of felt works well)
Post-It notes (3 x 3 inches or larger, lined or unlined - not accordian style)
Headphones or earbuds to use in class (please label)
1-2 boxes of tissues
NOTE:Â There are some really cool school supplies available in stores these days. Please keep the fancy items (ones with noises, fluffy or furry parts, games, etc.) at home. This includes fidget spinners, cubes, and slime. If it is determined that a child would benefit from a tool, one will be provided. It is best for everyone if students just have the basic tools at school. Thank you!
