Hi! I'm excited to get to know you and be with you this year. I can't wait to get to know everyone in our class and establish a great learning environment where we learn and grow together!
I have been teaching in Wayland for over 20 years, first at Loker School and then at Claypit Hill School. Most of my teaching career has been in fourth grade, although I have had two chunks in first grade. Both are wonderful ages and I have loved teaching each of them for different reasons. In fourth grade, I most love teaching math, although also enjoy talking about books and learning science and social studies together.
Outside of school, I love hiking, paddle boarding and kayaking, swimming, and skiing - lots of outside activities! I also like to bake, knit, play games, and read. I have two boys: Oliver is in eighth grade and Harrison is in sixth this year, both in Hudson. Our dog Chewie and my husband join us on many of our excursions. This summer, we spent about half the summer in New Hampshire, at the family lake house, with my sister on her farm, and visiting my mother.
The pictures below are from our adventures this summer, mostly in New Hampshire. They include me paddleboarding with Chewie, a bike ride we took along Lake Winnipesauke and Lake Winnisquam, mini-golfing, ice cream treats, and picking flowers to give to my mother. I'm sure I'll be writing about lots of our travels and experiences as I model writing this school year!
