Welcome to Wawasee Middle School.
This is my fourth year as Principal at WMS.
I am a proud parent of two Wawasee School Corporation students and am thankful that they attend Wawasee Community Schools where I know teachers and other staff members work hard each day to provide our students with a quality education.
The goal of the school is to provide an optimum learning environment for the adolescent student with regard to his or her intellectual, physical, emotional, and social needs. Wawasee Middle School serves as a bridge providing a smooth transition between the elementary school and the high school. It addresses the special needs of students who are changing into adulthood and is a school in which students feel important, experience success, and explore the curriculum. At WMS, students soon discover that learning can be exciting and rewarding.
Teachers at WMS. work together on grade level teams that join together in the planning and implementation of the students' educational activities. The different grade levels are housed in separate but unique locations in the building. Important aspects of the WMS program are the school within a school concept, a homeroom program, teaming of teachers, exploratory and enrichment classes, eight lane pool, planetarium, computer labs, academic superbowl teams, several different clubs, team sports, band, choir, orchestra, inclusion classrooms, advanced classes for math and language arts.
The Faculty, staff, and community of Wawasee Middle School are committed to helping students develop positive skills for academic excellence and to meeting their unique emotional, physical, social, and intellectual needs that will enable them to face the challenges of the 21st century.

The mission of Wawasee Community School Corporation is to create an academic, social, and physical environment
that facilitates growth in each student toward and
beyond mastery of state and national standards and
achievement of personal goals set by the student in
cooperation with staff and family. Staff, students, and
their families commit themselves to utilizing student data
and available resources to help the students reach those goals.
The Wawasee Community Schools are located in the northern part of Kosciusko County. The school district is comprised of the communities of Milford, North Webster and Syracuse, Indiana. The citizenry live, work and play around five large lakes: Dewart, Webster, Tippecanoe, Syracuse and Wawasee. Three thousand five hundred students find their way to school each day by bus or private vehicle to take advantage of the many excellent educational programs offered by dedicated school personnel.
Core subjects, Gifted/Talented, Home Study, Summer School, Vocational Placement, Special Needs Instruction, etc. meet the needs of all of the students in the corporation. After school activities which include clubs, organizations and athletics help keep students very busy and productive.
Three elementary schools are located in Milford, North Webster and Syracuse, and each provides a solid educational beginning for students. The middle schools, containing Grades 6-8, continue student progress before the final four years at Wawasee High School. All three distinctly different levels of educational opportunities, elementary, middle school and high school, provide each student a strong foundation for adulthood.
We are proud of our school community and especially of our students and faculty who give their time and talents to make educational life in the Wawasee Community School Corporation an enjoyable experience.
