Jordan Reilly

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that the CTE department, Crossroads and IDS nominate Jordan Reilly for the May Student of the Month.

Got Character?  When you mention Jordan Reilly, his amazingly strong character is, without question, the first thing that comes to mind. Many students stand out when it comes to one or two of the character traits that Wautoma School District emphasizes, however, Jordan embodies them all.

Respect and cooperation have been shown from the way he interacts with students and staff in the classroom, halls, and in the three sports he participates in. It is his ability to work with others and his empathy for their needs that sets Jordan apart.  He wants what is best for all and is willing to step in and help others when it is needed or to help their situation.  This is shown in his encouraging underclassmen in the classroom and fitness center, to being willing to drop everything he is doing to help out in the Hornet Cafe when he knows someone needs them to cover for him do to unforeseen situations.

He is determined to be the best athlete and student that he can be.  That is shown through his countless hours in the fitness center and gym outside of the normal practice schedule, as well as, his diligence to completing his homework on time and to his fullest potential.  This is demonstrated by his dedicated extra time outside of the classroom as part of the Bio-mimicry team, which shows his determination to and dedication to going above and beyond normal expectations. Jordan is also planning to attend Business World this summer, to further his passion for a career in accounting or business, another example of his determination to excel in all he does.

His leadership is more than just on the court and in the classroom and has grown this year as he was the first President of the Future Business Leaders of American and an active employee in our student run coffee shop.  In fact, he has impressed Mrs. Meek and Ms. Kniffen so much by being the primary student we can count on to be responsible for any commitment he makes that he has been chosen to be the Hornet Cafe Manager next year.

With all these amazing traits, it seems unbelievable that his integrity could be stronger than all of those mentioned. Jordan embodies honesty and truthfulness in all his actions.  He is not afraid to stand up for what is right, always makes the best possible choices, and  can never be heard saying a bad word about others.  He truly wants what is best for others and himself, and when watching him, you can see that he cannot even begin to understand why others don’t live to these same standards that he naturally embodies.

Jordan Reilly truly has “Got Character”  and that is why we nominate him for Wautoma High School May Student of the Month.
