We are all proud to nominate Elizabeth Lane for student of the month. She is well represented in our departments and an asset to our classrooms.
Elizabeth is a senior currently enrolled in Studio Art. This is her fourth year (8th semester) of Art at WHS. Elizabeth has a great sense of design, smart concepts and a sharp, creative mind. While being a seasoned art student some of her greatest attributes are her optimistic attitude and her strong work ethic. She is currently wrapping up a series of “color-field” paintings featuring well-balanced compositions and extreme textures. They will be on display this Spring at the annual WASD Art Show.
Elizabeth is also a longstanding member of the WHS Band. She has participated all four years.
She is diligent in her school work and is willing to give of her own time to help the band program. Her leadership and experience during marching season was especially valuable. Elizabeth paid close attention to the formations and helped her classmates find their lines and learn their positions. Elizabeth is always willing to take on a challenge and work hard. This year Elizabeth tackled a Class A Solo and spent a lot of time working through the technical challenges of the piece, she also learned several jazz charts outside of class and joined the jazz ensemble on stage for our winter concert.
Overall, Elizabeth always presents a wonderful attitude and gives 100% effort. She is very focused, hard working and always responsible and mature as she performs and completes the assigned tasks. Elizabeth is a considerate, kind, caring and has a helpful spirit when working with others. Her presence is a welcomed and valuable addition to the Wautoma High School community.
