I am a 2016 distinguished graduate from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. During my time at the Air Force Academy I was a soaring instructor pilot and was a co-team captain on the United States Air Force Academy's Aerobatic Demonstration Team. My time flying at the academy molded my leadership skills and solidified the importance of goal setting in my mind. This opportunity set a foundation for me to chase my dreams through sharing a passion for aviation.
In the fall of 2016, I will report to Sheppard Air Force Base for 55 weeks to compete in the elite Euro-Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training program (ENJJPT). ENJJPT teaches tactical aviation for careers as pilots in fighter and bomber aircraft. It is here that I will chase my dream of flying the F-22 Raptor.
"Being realistic is the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity." -Will Smith
This quote is extremely influential in my life. I fervently believe that the ability to achieve is only limited to the magnitude of a dream and the amount of effort devoted to its accomplishment. In the journey of a Wautoma High School gradate, the power of setting and achieving goals cannot be understated. When dreams are chased and large goals set, making tough decisions and staying true to your character becomes simple. I whole-heartedly encourage Wautoma's student-athletes to dream big, set goals and dedicate themselves to their accomplishment.
I'm proud to be a graduate of Wautoma's Class of 2007. I took what I learned from playing athletics at Wautoma to Mighigan Tech University where I was fortunate enough to play Division II basketball. I was able to follow my dream of playing basketball as we competed in several Elite Eights and one National Championship. After college I went on to UW-Madison where I received my Masters Degree and now work as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant at the ThedaCare Hospital in Berlin. I am blessed to have the opportunity to continue my basketball career, this time as a coach. I coach the Wautoma Girls Basketball Team with my husband, Tim Solarek. First as a player, now as a coach, I will forever have Hornet pride!
A quote that motivated me through my athletic career is "The vision of a champion is bent over, drenched in sweat, at the point of exhaustion when no one else is looking." -Mia Hamm
If you have a dream, only you can control its outcome. Go get it! Lastly.....Go Hornets!
