The Ohio Revised Code changed in 2014 with respect to calamity days. The change was from 5 days with no accounting for delay days to minimum hours in a school year. The school calendar for this year, which was board approved last spring, exceeds the minimum hours for Grade K-5 (910) and 6-12 (1001). The calendar has an allowance for 45 hours of missed “school hours”. School hours are calculated as the time Wauseon Schools are open for instruction with pupils in attendance, including scheduled classes, supervised activities, and approved education options but excluding meal times and extracurricular activities. For details on how time will be made up, please click on the 2017-2018 calendar link on the main page of the Wauseon Website.
