Finalists Interviews for the Director of Finance and Operations will be held on April 23

Good afternoon,

 

The initial interview process for the Director for Finance and Operations position at Watertown Public Schools has been completed. Members of the community can meet the three finalists on Monday, April 23, 2018, during the times listed below. The Superintendent will interview each candidate in Room 301 at the Phillips Administration Building, allowing members of the general community to listen to the conversation and to provide feedback at the conclusion.

April 23, 2018:

 

2:45pm – 3:45pm: George McCormack

4:00pm – 5:00pm: Heidi Perkins

5:15pm – 6:15pm: Billie Jo Turner

 

 

Meet the three finalists:

George McCormack received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Merrimack College and his Masters of Business Administration from Northeastern University.  For the past four years, George has served as the Assistant Business Manager for Billerica Public Schools where he plays an integral role in the financial operations of the school district.  In addition, George serves as the Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Town of Stoneham.   Prior to Billerica, George held the position of Assistant Vice President for State Street Group with a focus on municipal pension investments.


Heidi Perkins 
received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Suffolk University and her Masters in Business Administration from Fitchburg State University.  For the past three years, Heidi has served as the Director of Budgets and Finance for the Wellesley Public Schools where she assists in the management of a 70 million dollar budget. Beyond her experience in Wellesley, Heidi spent ten years in regional and municipal finance, five years in town finance, and twenty years as an accountant in the private sector.

 

Billie Jo Turner received her Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and her Masters in Education from Cambridge College.  Billie Jo has served as the School Business Administrator for Greater Lawrence Regional Technical High School for the past three years.  Prior to joining GLRTHS, Billie Jo was the Chief Financial Officer for the Boston Renaissance Charter School and the Budget Analyst/Grants Manager for Lowell Public Schools.
