How are we organizing this?

For PARCC and MCAS, each building has an Assessment Prep Team which organizes test administrations. The Team is comprised of representatives from the building Administration, and the Guidance, Special Education and English as a Second Language departments.

The building Administration will be working on assigning classrooms and proctors and monitoring the halls during test.

Special Education Team Chairs will be creating grids for accommodations with the SPED staff and creating accommodation groups with the Team.

The ESL Program Director will be working with her staff around special arrangements for ELL students.

Finally, Guidance will receive and invoice the tests, prepare boxes for each room with materials, supervise proctor sign-ins and sign-outs and count and pack tests for mailing.

How Do I Get More Information?

There will be a series of PARCC Updates as more information becomes available or pertinent. However, if you are curious, please Google PARCC DESE for information or go to the national PARCC site.

There is also a General Education Assessment site on the District’s website listed under Faculty Resources.

Further, Principals and Guidance Counselors have PARCC Accommodation manuals and can also be a resource.
