Hello Families,

Your children learned about the importance of summer reading and a plethora of fun summer reading activities happening this summer at the Watertown Free Public Library. Here are the links where you can learn more about the library's summer reading program and special events:

Here's a link also to a message by Dav Pilkey, author of Dog Man and the Captain Underpants books, about the importance of maintaining children's skills by reading for pleasure in the summer:

Hosmer Learning Garden workday

posted May 21, 2018, 8:20 AM by MaryKatherine Fitzpatrick

Hosmer Learning Garden workday - Sunday June 3 - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Volunteers are needed to help mulch the paths between the raised beds and several other projects. No gardening experience required, come for part of the time if you can. This is a family friendly event, but children are the responsibility of their parents so please plan accordingly. We have garden tools and gloves, but if you have your own, or an extra shovel or wheelbarrow, that would be most helpful.  Please contact Judy Fallows judith.fallows@watertown.k12.ma.us or Naomi Shea naomijean@comcast.net for further information.

SplashMath for Grades K-2

posted May 18, 2018, 12:30 PM by Toni Carlson   [ updated May 18, 2018, 12:43 PM ]

We are pleased to announce that we have acquired SplashMath for use in grades K-2 in all of our elementary schools!

SplashMath is an online math program that provides students with an opportunity to practice the math concepts and

skills that they learn about in class.

On SplashMath, your child can work independently on grade level math concepts at any time within a

structured, flexible, and supportive platform. It works well

on laptops, phones, or iPads!

Teachers will be sending home letters with your child's account information. A letter is attached that will tell you

how to download the SplashMath App! More information about optional summer math practice will be sent out as we get closer to the end of the school year.

Feel free to contact Elizabeth Kaplan, Elementary Math/Science Coordinator with any questions.
