Incoming 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Optional Summer Math, 2018

    • OPTIONAL:  All incoming 6th Grade students who worked with TenMarks in 5th Grade in Watertown have continued access to TenMarks for a portion of the summer.  If you would like to work in TenMarks, we suggest exploring the 5th Grade topics.  If you would like some other questions to explore, we also have available the Incoming 6th Grade Summer OPTIONAL Math Exploration  and the ANSWER KEY.
  • OPTIONALMr. Martin put together a few math questions (click here for the pdf)  for you to look at and try.  If you get stuck, there are also links to online help for each question.  The key topics Mr. Martin included are from our 6th grade curriculum.  They are fraction addition, working with 1-step equations, order of operations, understanding the relationships between fractions, decimals and percents, plotting points in the coordinate plane, finding the area and perimeter of triangles (and understanding the difference), measuring angles, ordering rational numbers, working with basic inequalities, and finding the next number or pattern in a sequence.
  • OPTIONAL:  If you are looking for other problems to try, you can pick questions from this problem set:  Incoming 7th Grade Math OPTIONAL Questions to Explore .  Want to check your work?  Try the ANSWER KEY.
  • OPTIONALMr. Cafua and Mr. Manoukian have selected some skills for you to review from 7th Grade.  Your child will receive an email from Mr. Wulf with their username for https://www.ixl.com/signin/watertown (we have our own login!).  They will need to use the "Forgot Password?" option to set up their own password.  Once logged in, this page https://www.ixl.com/math/grade-7 has items that Mr. Cafua and Mr. Manoukian have starred.  These are the topics we suggest your child explore at their leisure during the summer.  Immediate help is available through iXL on the skill they are working on, and Mr. Wulf can provide additional support via email (daniel.wulf@watertown.k12.ma.us)
