The Summer Explorations program will include fun, theme-based learning with structured activities AND and a camp-like setting.  It will run in a similar fashion to our wildly popular school vacation week programs.  Every week will have a theme which you'll find listed on the front page our the registration packet.  Each week will include a special event (field trip or event brought to the Hosmer School), several enrichment activities, arts and crafts, physical activities, water play, and more.  If you're looking for a summer experience for your child that incorporates both learning and fun, our Summer Explorations Program is sure to deliver!

Welcome to Cunniff Before and Extended Day Programs new and returning families,

Please take a few minutes to refresh and become acquainted with the following:

Before School Hours ~

Before School begins on Tuesday, September 5th, from 7:15 a.m. for children in grades 1-5. Children are typically dismissed to join their classroom lines. Pk/K children will be welcomed on Thursday, September 7th.Children will be escorted to their classrooms.

Extended Day Hours~

Extended Day begins on Tuesday, September 5th, between 2:30-6:00p.m.for grades 1-5. Pk/K children will be welcomed on Thursday, September 7th.

 Transition to Extended Day~

Classroom teachers will receive a student list of children who attend Extended Day. This assures a smooth transition to the Cafetorium, where staff welcome and meet in age-appropriate groupings. This year there will be 7 groups, Pk, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Tuition Payments –

We have conveniently set ten months of tuition payments for Before and Extended Day Programs. All tuitions are turned in at the first of each month with a grace period until the tenth of each month.  We do not send out invoices, and all tuition payments are made out to Town of Watertown. Your child’s/children’s names on the bottom left of your check and the program name will be very helpful, as your returned check is your receipt.

Early Release Days –

As part of the Watertown Public Schools, Our Programs follow the District’s Calendar. Aside from the Thanksgiving holiday Early Release, Extended Day begins at 12:15, immediately after dismissal.

How to prepare your child/children for Extended Day~

As you prepare backpacks for school, I’d like to encourage you to pack a separate snack for you child, labeled “Extended Day”. Having a healthy snack and form of hydration sets your child up for a successful afternoon. I also ask that families with Pk and K children set an extra set of clothing inside the backpack.

I invite you to look through our website, the parent handbook and our Typical Day which are especially helpful for more insight and details about the Programs.

 Sincerely,

 Laureen Raftes, Site-Coordinator
