Family Handouts

Below are the Handouts given to parents who attended College Night on September 17, 2008

If you don't read any of the others, please read these two:

"The College Application Year - Things a Parent can do to Make it Harder", Parents Together Magazine Jody Visage, MA, CSW

A Great 2-page read for all parents of college-bound students, outlining ways in which a parent can least support their students in the admissions process.

"Who Needs Harvard?", The Atlantic Monthly 2004, Gregg Easterbrook, Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution

A longer article outlining research that college fit, rather than college prestige, is the most important factor in predicting a student's personal and financial success

Other articles worth your time:

"Choosing the Right College", College Planning Quarterly

"Just Let Go Already", The New York Times

"What We Learned at the Circus"  Newsweek
