Mad Science Workshop Series
3 Sessions Available!

Wednesdays, October 19th & 26th and November 2nd & 9th
Session 1 (Grades K-3): 2:30 - 3:30 PM
Session 2 (Grades K-2): 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Session 3 (Grades 3-6): 6:30 - 7:30 PM

Join us for some bizarre stories and mad science experiments. Students will use their imagination and science and engineering skills to design, build, and test a prototype spider snare, ghost boat, sea monster catcher, and monster action figure. Each student will receive a set of books to add to his or her personal library. Students adding the evening sessions must be accompanied by an adult. This workshop series was designed to foster a love a reading and practice reading fluency in line with Common Core State Standards. Register by October 13th.

Join us for four workshops presented by a licensed dietary nutritionist to learn ways you can support healthy eating in your home. You do not need to attend every workshop in order to participate. SNAP’s nutrition education component, SNAP-Ed, is administered through the University of Rhode Island Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences. The mission of URI SNAP-Ed is to empower participants to choose nutritious foods and be physically active within constraints of a limited budget.
