Summer Vocal Intensive

The Walpole Summer Vocal Intensive will help vocalists discover their vocal potential and provides the tools for students (6-12) to become more confident performers. Students will have numerous opportunities to perform on a daily basis in various groupings: solo, duets and trios, choral, larger ensembles and musical theater scenes. Topics will be approached in a multiplicity of ways and the camp can be repeated from year to year.

Topics during the week to include:

·       Exploring vocal technique (posture, breathing, resonance, diction, etc)
·       What am I? Exploring your vocal range and voice type
·       Music literacy (sight-reading, intervals, triads, major and minor scales)
·       Singing alone/with others (solo voice vs. choral voice)
·       Acting for singers/Song interpretation
·       Vocal health for a lifetime of singing
·       Confidence and overcoming stage fright
·       Interactive masterclasses with instructors and guest clinicians
·       Putting it together (singing, acting, dancing, oh my!)
