Providing for Gifted and Talented Students

This is no "one way" to provide for a gifted and/or talented student. The video below demonstrates the importance of differentiating learning to cater for the needs of all students. 

The Animal School - Why Differentiation Matters

Waipipi School are developing an identification process for gifted students (mildly through to exceptionally) as seen on the pyramid below. The degree of differentiation for a gifted child is based on their placement within the scale. A child who has exceptional ability or potential beyond their class peers, may be considered mildly or moderately gifted, while a student who is achieving success at an international level, may be considered exceptionally gifted.
