I use operations research, data analytics, and mathematical modeling to solve problems in healthcare, emergency management, and logistics.  My research has received numerous awards: three papers have been recognized by the INFORMS Pierskalla Best Paper Award competition for excellence in healthcare management science, as the winner in 2011, a finalist in 2015, and runner-up in 2017; 2016 Best Applications Paper in IIE Transactions; and the National Science Foundation CAREER award. I publish in journals such as Operations Research, Transportation Science, IIE Transactions, and EJOR, as well as top bio-statistics and application-oriented journals.  I have served as Principal Investigator or Co-PI on a broad range of funded research projects, with funding from the National Science Foundation and Carilion Clinic, among others. I teach courses on optimization and logistics.
