LIVE HEALTHY IOWA KIDS TRACK MEET - VINTON

Monday, May 8th, 4:45 pm - 6:00 pm at Karr Athletic Field Track

ECHO MINISTRIES - VINTON
Volunteers are needed to help move furniture for approximately 1 hour Wednesdays at 3:30 PM.  This is an ongoing need on Wednesdays which will count towards Black & Gold hours or this summer can be used for 1:1 laptops.  Please leave a message with your contact information at Echo Ministries 472-2002 if interested in helping.
 


VINTON SOFTBALL/BASEBALL CORPORATION

Vinton Softball Baseball Corporation will be hosting several baseball and softball tournaments at the Marvin Lindsey baseball complex in April, May and June and are looking for volunteers to work in the concession stand.  Tournament dates are April 22nd, April 29th, May 6th-7th, May 13th, June 3rd-4th and June 10th-11th.  Hours available are 8AM – 5PM each tournament day.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Monica Funk at mfunk@pointbuilders.com or 319-350-0900.

MOPS (MOTHERS OF PRESCHOOLERS) - VINTON

Volunteers are needed to help with childcare for MOPS at Blessed Hope Church (behind Theisen's) Wednesdays from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM.   Please contact Becky Lutgen at beckyk911@yahoo.com or 319-361-7044 if you are available to help.


PALACE THEATRE - VINTON
Volunteers are needed to help with concessions and cleaning at the Palace Theatre throughout the year.  If interested, please text Marcy Horst 319-721-1838.  She will put you on the sub/special showing list, and you will be texted when opportunities arise.   







MOBILE FOOD PANTRY - VINTON
Students needed to help set up the mobile food pantry in Vinton on the 4th Saturday of each month from approximately 2 - 3:30 PM.  For further information, please contact Heidi Schminke at 472-4543



BENTON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - VINTON

 Some of the projects volunteers may help with:

1. Record in digital format a BCHS volunteer doing a tour of one of our properties, the Ray House and making it a DVD.

2. Record in digital format a BCHS volunteer doing a tour of another one of our properties, the Vinton Railroad Depot Museum and making it a DVD.

 3. Assist BCHS volunteers to inventory items at another property, the Horridge House. This consists of physically looking at an item, seeing if it has an inventory number, making a computer entry in a special computer program and attaching a digital photo.

4. In the spring, assisting BCHS volunteers with clearing, weeding and planting several flower beds at the Horridge House.

5. In the spring, the Ray House will start an exterior painting project. People to help with paint scraping, priming and painting will be needed. No ladders necessary. Tools and dust masks provided.

6. Help BCHS plan, stage and act in a Halloween “Haunted Basement” event at the Ray House.

7. Help BCHS plan and implement an “Antiques Roadshow”type event as a fundraiser for the BCHS.
