Welcome to Mrs. Berkman's Webpage!

Welcome!

This is my 7th year teaching. I taught 7th grade LA at Githens Middle School in Durham, NC for my first 2 years. I have been at Voyager the last 4 years teaching LA and SS on a 3 person team. This year, I am teaching 5th grade Core Connections to all 5th graders.  I truly enjoy my time with your children! I am also the Middle School Cross Country Coach for an amazing group of co-ed athletes - see my Voyager XC link in the menu at the left side for more information.

This is a great place for you to keep up with our class. You will be able to find information about Homework assignments, both current and upcoming Projects, attached docs of past Student-Led Newspapers, Important Announcements and reminders, a list of websites we use, some fun games I've found, and a list of books recommended for 5th graders.

You will want to check back frequently to make sure you are aware of changes in the Homework, Project and Announcement categories. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at: lberkman@voyageracademy.net

Students will be in flexible groupings. Students will not stay with the same group of kids all day. Students will have 3 or 4 teachers total and we are no longer in a 2 teacher team / 3 teacher team arrangement. This is new for 5th grade and we will tell you more at open house / curriculum night.
