The Domzaal used to be the rehearsal space for the symphonic band of Vooruit. The glass-tile roof would let the light shine over the city of Ghent, a light-house alike. But due to this glass roof, acoustics were poor so rehearsals were moved to another room on another floor. The Domzaal then was used as a 'games room' with gymnastic tools and ropes available for the fit workman. After the 1990's restauration, the hall was transformed into a black-box theatre on our 4th floor.

Loading and/or unloading cars, vans and lorries for the Domzaal is done at streetlevel in Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 23, at the entrance next to the café.
Cars and vans can enter the drive, but all vehicles must be moved after (un)loading.   Vooruit does not have its own parking spaces.
As we do not have a loading dock, delivery vans and lorries must have a tail lift or at least a long ramp to unload. Please contact someone at arrival.
The hall is situated on the 4th floor and can be reached: first by elevator or via the central stairway until the 3rd floor. Further on by the stairs until the hall. Set and stage material would then be hoisted up or transported with a wheelchair lift to the 4th floor. Due to these difficult means of access, the Domzaal is not suitable for 'large-set-productions'.
