Summer Reading Lists

Welcome to Summertime!

It is very important to keep reading over the summer break.  But, what should you read?  Let us make some suggestions.  Read anything, and everything, that interests you!  If you are looking for something new, please open the attachments listed at the bottom of the page for a few great lists for students who will be entering the second grade.  The first list from HAISLN contains descriptions of books for students who will be entering first and second grade.  The second list was prepared by another school as part of a required summer project.  There will be no assignments due at the beginning of the school year for our second-graders.  Please also consider joining the Summer Reading Program sponsored by your local public library.  There are always fun activities ande great prizes associated with it!  And, best of all, it's free!!!!!
Another interesting summer reading program is the Scholastic Summer Challenge.  Read books, win stuff, and help charities all at the same time.
