Easter Message

posted 2 Apr 2020, 13:02 by Mr N Hancox   [ updated 2 Apr 2020, 13:04 ]

Happy Easter everyone. Stay safe and well.

Dear children/parents,

The last 2 weeks have been very strange for all of us and I have wanted to speak to you since school closed but we have very busy developing the new hub childcare provision which is now  at Caedraw.

We care about you very much and we think about you every day. I am sure you miss school and we miss you too.  You must continue to be ‘ready to learn’ although you are now learning, and we are teaching and caring for you in very different ways . Your teachers have been communicating and setting you tasks online and using Seesaw and Google Classroom to help you with your work and check on how you are feeling.

Keep working hard, keep fit and healthy, keep practising your reading and numbers and always try your best. Don’t be afraid to talk about your worries. The grown-ups who are at home with you will understand if you are finding all of this a bit confusing or a bit difficult – everyone does!

I am regularly checking in with all the teachers to see how you are doing with your home learning tasks, and I have seen some of your fantastic work online and on Social Media. While we are off, you must also make sure you are ‘respectful’ by listening to the grown-ups who are at home with you and remember to be kind to each other. Make sure you help around the house, just like you do when you help in class.

School work is important but it is also important that you relax and have fun with your family. So enjoy your Easter holidays, your teachers given you a list of things to help keep you busy and happy and there are many more ideas online. Your teachers have been working very hard over the past few weeks and will  not be expected to mark or monitor this or other work during the break. However, they will be checking occasionally to see if anyone has any specific questions or concerns. You can always email me at head @caedraw.merthyr.sch.uk if you need us urgently. School will not open after Easter and we will keep you up to date with latest information as and when we receive it.

Most importantly ‘stay safe and well’ and before you know it we will all be back together at Caedraw learning, playing, and having fun together. Be brave, be positive and keep making us proud of you!

Happy Easter everyone.
