Training

Flight Instructor I (VATSIM Instructor):
Conduct flight training operations within the guidelines of vatsim rules and policies. Answering pilot questions with anything flight training related. Conduct classes on aviation training topics. Take part in special projects in regards to growth of the department on a needed basis.
Qualifications
-Must be 17 years of age or older
-Have a minimum of 250 verifiable flight time on vatsim network
-Knowledge of aviation fundamentals
-Strong communication and organizational skills
-Leadership & Teaching abilities desired
-Willing to obtain vatsim P1-P5 ratings
-Can speak and write fluent English
-Active in the community
-Able to work under deadlines
-Communicates and works well with others
-Check Staff Email (if accepted) regularly
-Must NOT be apart of any other Virtual United Airlines as staff or pilot.



Technology

Front-End Web Developers:
We're looking for skilled front-end web developer with an eye for detail. Experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript is mandatory, knowledge about Angular, Node, ASP, and GIT... is a plus. Your tasks include, but are not limited to, optimizing and developing new front-end for our website and various other platforms we utilize; creating a solid user experience (UX) all across the board; integrate and display data provided to you from various back-end services; and much more!
Qualifications
-You are in compliance with standard VUSC hiring policy (18+ years of age, you hold no staff position at another VA, ...)
-Advanced experience with HTML and CSS.
-Have a basic (working) understanding of Javascript and back-end techniques (such as PHP)
-Familiar with modern web development techniques and practices
-You have an eye for detail and good UX-building
-Have proficient communication skills
-Are willing to report weekly
-You're active at least 2-3 hours per week
-You must be able to work in a team, as a team

Front-End Web Developers:
Are you a server-side person? Do semicolons, arrays, SQL statements and asynchronous processing not scare you? Then we're probably looking for someone like you! Your task would include, but are not limited to, testing, developing and optimizing new back-end for our website and various other platforms we utilize; working with your front-end colleagues to implement new features; working with the community to bring innovation into the organization; and much more! Experience with PHP and SQL is mandatory, knowledge about front-end technologies, Angular, Node, ASP and GIT is a plus!

Domicile Operations

Domicile Manager:
Domicile Managers must be available by email, forums, Teamspeak, and social media as much as possible. They are the first line of contact for pilots assigned to their respected domicile. They are responsible for reviewing PIREPs and making sure they are within requirements of the Virtual United Pilot Handbook. DM's should be proactive throughout the Virtual United community. They send monthly reports to Operations Director and must maintain/apply a level of professionalism throughout the Virtual United community. He/She will report to the Operations Director
Qualifications
-Must be 18 years of age or older.
-Must be active in Teamspeak and other social media outlooks.
-Must be proficient in communication skills; oral and written.
-Must have a basic level of leadership skills.
-Must NOT be apart of any other Virtual United Airlines as staff or pilot.
-Must NOT be apart of any other Virtual Airlines as a staff member.
-Must be dedicated.
-Must be an active member for at least 60 consecutive days.

Communications

Public Relations Manager:
The Public Relations (PR) Manager the voice of VirtualUA. The PR Manager will be in charge of drafting up a monthly Public Release that will be sent out not only to our pilots, but also other sources in the flight sim community. This will include a monthly update about VirtualUA, an update from the Directors of VirtualUA, and also any important news that should be released at that time. The second task is to create our weekly Jumpseat Chatter short newsletter to the pilots of VirtualUA. This is a mini newsletter that contains a Staff Update, VA News, and Partner News. They will report to the Director of Communications

-Must be 18 years or older
-Been with VUAL for more than 6 months
-Can speak and write fluent English
-Active in the community
Able to work under deadlines
-Communicates and works well with others
-Check Staff Email (if accepted) regularly
-Must NOT be apart of any other Virtual United Airlines as staff or pilot.

Graphics Designer:
The Graphics Designers of VirtualUA are responsible for creating “eye-catching” images for the use of VUAL. These can include photos for Social Media, Events, Contrails Magazine, Jumpseat Chatter, and other requests as they come up. All applicants MUST have a steady knowledge/ background in Photoshop or other photo editing software. They will report to the Graphics Design Manager within the Communications Department.

-Must be 18 years or older
-Been with VUAL for more than 6 months
-Must have skills in Graphic Designing
-Must have skills in Photoshop
-Must NOT be apart of any other Virtual United Airlines as staff or pilot.
