Awards, Accolades and Achievements!

A job well done by Leslieann Jenisha,  and Jeremy!  They volunteered at the homeless clinic at Bethlehem House today.  The doctors,  nurses and the patients were very excited to have young people giving back to there community.  I received many thanks for their service!  Way to go!

Two of our PGIA seniors, Kayla Clendinen and Portia Norkaitis, are among the 16,000 students nationwide who have achieved Semifinalist status in the National Merit Scholarship Program and remain in the competition for the National Merit Scholarship. This program intends to honor "students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies" and leads to the awarding of 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $35 million dollars.

Ms. Nisha Hodge, a 2012 graduate of VI Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy, addresses the 1500+ delegates at the 5th annual International Baccalaureate Conference of the Americas where she articulated the benefits of an IB education and the educational opportunities she has experienced.   Ms Hodge had the honor of introducing Philippe Cousteau, Jr.  as the key note speaker for this global conference on education.

Ms. Hodge – who won the prestigious Gates Millenium Scholarship in 2012 – was born on St. Thomas and is currently studying pediatrics with a minor in Spanish at the New College (The Honors College) of Florida.

Please take a moment to watch a short  video of her speech - she is an amazing young woman.
