Welcome to Waterloo Cross Country!

Coach McDaniel has taken over the cross country program. If anyone is interested in running, please see Mr. Drugan at the high school.

All results from meets can be found at www.baumspage.com.

The Waterloo Cross Country program was established in 1972 and has had some great success! In 1981 the girls team were League Champions.

In 1983 the Lady Vikes advanced to the State Meet where they placed 3rd and in 1984 the team advanced again to the State Meet where they finished as State Runner's Up!

In 2007 the girls team were District Champions (1st time in school history) and advanced to the State Meet where they finished 11th overall.

In 2010, the Boys team were District Runner's Up (best finish in school history) and finished 6th at Regional's.

Several individual runners, both boys and girls have made it to the State Tournament. We had a streak of at least one runner making it to the State Meet from 2006-2012. Go to the history page for more information on State qualifiers.

If you enjoy running or just like staying in shape, cross country is the team for you!

Running Quotes

"To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift."- Steve Prefontaine

Stadiums are for spectators. We runners have nature and that is much better.
