Art is in our Blood
My son Asher is a sophmore at RIT this year in the Film and Animation Department. We are super proud of his achievements and love that he attends the College my husband and I attended. Check out the Art room backsplash we created together!
There is no hiding it, we love our dogs.
Fiona is an Australian Cattle Dog we adopted 5 years ago. She had a rough beginning to her life. When she is in her element, she is more low-key than most Cattle Dogs, but she will still herd your heels if you get in her way or make her nervous.
JJ is half black lab half Catahoula Leopard. All of his litter mates have spots all over, but not JJ. He has been unhappy about his "middle child" status since the day we brought BA home, but he runs with me which helps him feel "special".
Barry Allen is our newest family member. Barry Allen is a Mastiff-Shepard-Hound mix. BA might be ginormous but he is a gentle giant. He demands attention like a child frequently. BA turns 3 on Halloween '22. He acts like an old man mostly though. Our goal is to earn his Canine Good Citizenship status so he can be a therapy dog one day in the JH Art Room!
The Gordons love making art! My Husband Alan creates art digitally on ProCreate on his iPad. He has won national art recognition for his work! I work both traditionally with Drawing Painting and Sculpting, in addition to creating jewelry made from shrinky dinks. We spend a lot of time being creative, relaxing on our porch, and playing with our dogs in our backyard.
Barry Allen was 10 lbs when we brought him home, 30 lbs at 13 weeks and now weighs 100 lbs. He is an amazing dog. While I don't miss training a puppy, sometimes I miss that tiny squishy puppy he use to be.
Summer Accomplishments
I took on a huge design project this summer. When the plan didn't go quite right, I almost had to cancel. Instead I used my creative problem solving skills. I enlisted Asher to help me install a fence. Using the cement mixer was a ton of fun. I then laid 7000 lbs of flagstone and planted a new garden from new plants and all of the plants from the old garden.
We love how it turned out!
