John Bilkey

John Bilkey was born on June 1st, 2001. John is a programmer, student, and hobby radio broadcaster. He first began programming on his Windows XP tablet PC around the age of 10 years old using Scratch, a graphical "drag and drop" language made by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. Though the language is designed as a gateway language for children, John continues to use it for games and utility programs. All of John's games are available on his website and listed below. John is a strong supporter of open source software and all of his games and programs are open-sourced.

John is passionate about user privacy and cyber security, which is partially why he created Bangaroo on Dec 19, 2016, at 9:18 AM. On December 16th, his high school blocked DuckDuckGo. DuckDuckGo was blocked again on May 5th, 2017 and it appears that it will continue to be blocked.

John loves using computers, especially Windows machines. He has mastered using Windows 98, XP, 7, 8, and 10. On the topic of Windows 98, John loves using his Acer TravelMate 333T.

On top of computers, John loves using and making electronics. He regularly solders kits and occasionally designs circuits himself. John is a passionate radio enthusiast. He enjoys listening to NOAA, AM, and FM radio. John even runs his own radio station on 90.5FM. Every late start Wednesday John broadcasts "Block to Block FM" with his friends.

Because of John's interest in computers and cyber security, John has become a "fanboy" of BlackBerry. He has obtained the title of "CrackBerry Abuser" at the CrackBerry forums. (John at CrackBerry)
