Nancy Olaeta

I grew up on the peninsula around art and artists as my father was a professional artist. I was lucky to have inherited my talent and joy of painting from him. Art was always my favorite subject in school and after raising a family and a career as a floral designer I decided to concentrate on my artwork.
I paint at home using oils on canvas. Subjects come from my garden and  my travels around the state, country and abroad. My camera is always ready to capture the play of light and shadow on the landscape. My hope is to transfer that experience onto the canvas.
Although I have taken a few classes over the years I consider myself self taught. I find my paintings improving with the many hours of work that I put into them. I’m also a fused glass artist and have a koi fish on display at CHOMP.
