First of all, the vast majority of all disease and illness is caused by environmental factors (including diet), not your genes, as the pharmaceutical/medical establishment constantly suggests.  Having a genetic disposition for a disease is not the same thing as having a disease.  The epidemics of cancer and diseases (like Alzheimer's and Autism) are due mainly to the combination of very common nutritional deficiencies and massive amounts of toxins (chemicals, metals and radiation) we are now exposed to, and since big industries are now mostly interconnected  (including large food producers/genetic-modifiers, and producers of chemicals used on and in foods and things that produce harmful radiation), and because establishment medical doctors are largely ignorant on this subject (since establishment medical school graduates are taught little to nothing about it), their ability to always accurately diagnose people's illnesses is greatly hindered.

The following is from the excellent book Dodging the Toxic Bullet, by David Boyd & David Suzuki. [comments by me are bracketed]:

"Given the importance of air to human life and well-being, it is incredible how cavalier we are about using the atmosphere as a gigantic trash can. ... Vehicle exhaust is a nasty stew of toxic substances, including sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and carbon monoxide, as well as thousands of hazardous air pollutants. Many of the same toxic substances found in tobacco smoke are present in vehicle exhaust, including benzene, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, 1,3-butadiene, formaldehyde, acrolein, heavy metals, and hexane. This is one reason health experts compare living in some cities to smoking a pack of cigarettes daily."  -p. 30-1

"There are hundreds of other air pollutants that are known or suspected to cause cancer, genetic mutation, and birth defects, even at relatively low exposure levels. Hazardous air pollutants are released by motor vehicles, factories, and incinerators. Examples include mercury, which is associated with developmental deficits in children, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which cause cancer. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the cancer risk from hazardous air pollutants is fifty times higher than the level governments usually deem acceptable. Some of these pollutants, such as PCBs, mercury, and dioxins, may be released in one geographic area and spread across a continent or around the world."

... Pregnant women in Los Angeles exposed to higher levels of smog suffer triple the risk of birth defects such as defective heart valves and cleft lips and palates. Air pollution may be the deadliest environmental problem facing people who live in industrialized nations, killing hundreds of thousands of people annually. The Canadian Medical Association estimates that twenty-one thousand premature deaths occur in Canada annually as a result of exposure to air pollution, while the figure for the U.S., where cities endure smoggier air, could be up to ten times that. ... The main cause of death associated with exposure to air pollution is heart disease. Microscopic particles of air pollution are inhaled deep into the lungs, where they can enter the bloodstream and trigger a cascade of physiological responses in the cardiovascular system, including inflammation, changes in the composition of the blood, increased propensity to form clots, hardening and narrowing of the arteries, and abnormal heartbeat. For example, exposure to diesel fumes contributes to the formation of blood clots, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes."  -p. 34-7

[Also there's a growing body of research linking artificial colors to ADHD in children.]

"Despite its extraordinary value, we [sic] treat water in much the same way we [sic] treat the atmosphere -- as a place where society can dump unwanted refuse, including industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals such as antibiotics, mood stabilizers, and sex hormones, and untreated or inadequately treated sewage. Hundreds of millions of kilograms of industrial pollutants and pesticides, billions of kilograms of manure and fertilizers, contamination from millions of boats, and immense volumes of urban runoff find their way into our water bodies. In Canada and the U.S., industries dump over 800,000 kilograms (more than 1.5 million pounds) of known or suspected carcinogens -- including lead, chloroform, and carbon tetrachloride -- into rivers, lakes, and other water bodies every year. In addition, more than 16 kilograms (35 million pounds) of known or suspected carcinogens are injected underground where they may contaminate water supplies. We need to recognize that the pollutants dumped into water bodies or buried in soil and rock are likely to end up in our bodies."  -p. 98

"Every week there is more evidence connecting industrial chemicals and the by-products of burning fossil fuels to the epidemic of chronic diseases afflicting modern society, including cancer, neurological disorders, cardiovascular disease, respiratory illness, and reproductive problems. ... Currently, we [sic] consider chemicals innocent until proven guilty. Tens of thousands of industrial chemicals have entered the marketplace in recent decades without adequate testing for human or environmental health. .. We'd be better off reversing our approach and considering chemicals harmful until there is enough evidence to suggest otherwise. People, not toxic chemicals, have rights. We should err on the side of caution, and place the onus on industry to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a product and the chemicals it contains or releases are safe."  -p. 177-9

[Like most environmentalists, the authors say in addition to protecting ourselves as best we can, we need to put pressure on government officials and industry people so that they will stop poisoning us]:

"[I]t's not enough to take actions to protect ourselves and our families from environmental hazards. We also have a moral obligation to ensure that governments and industries take the necessary steps to ensure that everyone is adequately protected from health threats." 

 [But we cant ensure that!  Politicians basically do whatever they want!  And destruction is their m.o., they are toxic by default!  We must eliminate governance and industry, not try to reform them... and therein lies the reason why we have little to no progress: submission to false authority, and belief that protesting/activism and voting will save us.  Indoctrination has blinded people to the evil of social-systems and the sovereign veganic homestead solution.]

... "One of our key duties as citizens is to help political and business leaders find the path to a prosperous, just, and sustainable future. We can provide enthusiastic encouragement where warranted and constructive criticism when necessary."

Case Study Examples

An increasingly prevalent example of how our natural world is being corrupted is the millions of wireless internet and cell-phone antennae being put almost everywhere, in offices, schools, libraries, cafes, etc. and the harmful effects from this radiation are being covered up by industry and government.
  • High-tension power lines have been directly linked to cancer in humans (particularly leukemia), among the electric company workers that maintain them and people that live near them.
  • Some parents tried to remove WiFi from their children's school in Canada, citing scientific studies showing abnormal increased heart rates among other negative effects, but of course the State-run school sided with harmful industry, despite the fact that the majority of the parents signed a petition to have it removed.  See also the documentary "Full Signal" on the health effects of cell phone towers, along with the following important documentary, "Resonance: Beings of Frequency": 
[Philosophical Note: This pattern of state/corporate interest always favoring something unnatural and destructive is because the states and corporations are unnatural and destructive by nature, that is how they came into existence and persist.  You can't produce something good from something that is fundamentally bad, a simple truth that reformers and apologists for the status-quo don't yet understand.]
  • Those that live near nuclear facilities and other power plants also have higher rates of illness, as innumerable reports and testimonies attest to around the world... this is very clear cut and simple: toxins and radiation cause disease! It's not rocket science! And on the other end of the spectrum: "Contact with Nature provides so many mental and physical benefits that some experts are calling for it to be recognized and promoted as a part of a public health strategy.  ... The deeper your connection to Nature and the more time you spend outdoors, the happier [and healthier] you are likely to be." -p. 194 
And again this is all pointing out that the further we depart from Eden (veganic homesteads) the more disease and unhappiness we experience. This is karmic law in action for not recognizing the evil and violence of living in any other way. "The bottom line is that health, happiness, and environmentally friendly behavior are complementary and mutually reinforcing." -p. 196  [Yes, and veganic homesteading is the best way to achieve that.]

Establishment Medicine obviously cannot be trusted, much of what they offer not only doesn't solve the root problem of the disease but makes it worse. 

The mass-media serves establishment medicine, telling us in news reports things like "If your child is depressed for more than 2 weeks it's time to talk to your doctor".  What that means of course is "It's time for your establishment doctor to prescribe pharmaceutical psychoactive drugs for your child", which ignore the root problem and often makes things much worse.  More on the harms associated with modern medicine here:

Consequently, most people are deficient in at least one or more essential nutrients.   • "Conventional" farming methods that tend to produce nutrient-deficient foods, as opposed to traditional organic farming methods.
  • Increased food storage and transportation time, which increases nutrient depletion.
  • Food processing and refinement that destroys nutrients
  • An increase in the amount of processed foods consumed by the average American.

Many scientists now believe that everyone needs to have a higher intake of nutrients than their diet accounts for in order to improve body function, deal with the body's chemical load, and to prevent and treat illnesses."

More than one hundred pesticide ingredients are suspected to cause birth defects, cancer, and gene mutations." - p. 54

Before any food reaches your mouth, there are many ways in which chemicals can sneak into it.  Plastic or aluminum packaging, canned food inner liners, cooking implements... The longer the food is in contact with plastic the more contaminated it becomes, and especially if the container and food are heated... Storing or buying salty, acidic, or high-fruit-content foods in aluminum containers (such as carbonated beverages in cans) can cause high levels of aluminum contamination.  Haven't you noticed that metallic taste from such beverages at times?  By only using natural containers for storing and preparing your food and drinks you greatly reduce the amount of health-damaging chemicals you are ingesting.


Health Plan

Even though I do not follow this plan completely, it is not due to lack of confidence in its effectiveness, this is the most intelligent and common sense health advice I've ever found.
If you did the following, your health and well-being would improve dramatically:
  • Follow the advice given here:

  • Consume a diet that focuses on whole, organic, unprocessed and raw plant-based foods (vegetables, fruits, seeds, whole grains, legumes, etc.)  Juicing organic fruits and vegetables increases the amount of usable nutrients your body receives and is very effective in supporting your immune system and liver in eliminating toxins from your body, and has been shown to cure many diseases (see the documentary The Gerson Miracle for more on that.) Eliminate use of animal products (meat, dairy, eggs, etc.).  
  • Here's an example of what healthy meals can consist of: Breakfast: Oatmeal with dried apricots and peaches (high in iron), flax-seed meal, raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, chia-seeds.  Lunch: A big salad with lettuce, spinach, raw onion, beans, carrots, broccoli, cilantro, avocado and pumpkin seeds.  Dinner:  Enchiladas made of sweet potatoes, hummus, rice & beans, peppers and garlic-cilantro-guacamole.  Dessert: Chocolate pudding made from blending pure chocolate powder with 1 avocado and 4-5 bananas.
  • Eliminate/reduce use of refined sugar; refined sugars actually cause low blood sugar since the body overcompensates for this flooding of artificial sugar by an overproduction of insulin, depriving the body and brain of healthy amounts of needed glucose, this reduces higher brain functioning and can cause other serious symptoms like fatigue, symptoms of what's called hypoglycemia.
  • Eliminate tobacco, alcohol (which among many more obvious problems, can also induce hypoglycemia in individuals low in glucose stores) and coffee. (Instead of coffee, try the many varieties of organic herbal tea available, White Tea is especially healthy, very high in antioxidants). 
  • Dairy is particularly unhealthy, scientifically proven to promote cancer growth and many other illnesses.  It is unnatural to drink the mother's milk of another species.
  • Support your Immune System:  
    1. Take a wholefood multivitamin/mineral supplement.  Magnesium deficiency is now very common and causing many wrongly diagnosed illnesses, most multivitamin/mineral supplements only contain a small amount of the Daily Recommended Allowance, so take a separate Magnesium supplement or take enough foods (like pumpkin seeds) to get your RDA.  Make sure the B12 you're taking is natural Methylcobalamin, not Cyanocobalamin, the latter is artificially made with cyanide and is not healthy.  Also consider taking vitamin B17 which many cancer survivors claim helped cure them, you can  obtain it from natural sources like apricot and apple seeds.
    2. Take herbs like Garlic, Echinacea & Astragalus regularly.  Licorice is an excellent anti-viral/microbial as well.
    3. Avoid soft drinks completely, especially those containing aspartame (a proven toxin) and other artificial sweeteners that are unhealthy.
    4. Remove mercury fillings if you have them, and remove toxic products from your home like vinyl flooring, paints, carpets, etc. that off-gas Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).  Indoor air is often much more toxic than outside air, be sure to remove these sources of toxins, keep a clean house, and let fresh air in regularly.
  • Avoid white bread, rice, refined flour and other heavily processed food-products. They have less essential nutrients, including omega-3 essential fatty acids and others than whole grains, nuts and seeds.  For example, one cup of the ancient grain quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) contains as much calcium as an entire quart of dairy milk (without the cancer and osteoporosis producing qualities of dairy) and is also a complete protein.  (You may also find eliminating the gluten-containing grains (wheat, rye & barley) will make you feel better, some studies suggest everyone is gluten-intolerant to some degree, finding that it triggers an immune response, this is probably because of it being a modern highly hybridized grain that our bodies did not evolve to eat.)

  • Read this about hydrogenated oils and transfats, (and how the government lies to you about what's in your food!).  Use oils like organic Olive & Coconut instead.
  • Essential Fatty Acids (Omega 3 & 6) are crucial for good health, as you've probably already heard.  What isn't as widely known is that many people have a deficiency of Omega 3 and too much Omega 6 (which is more common in foods), so it's good to eat foods that have higher levels of 3 than 6, like: Organic Flax Seed Oil, Raw Spinach & Romaine Lettuce, Purslane and Chia Seeds, to get what your bodies needs for optimum health.  Many promote fish-meat as a source, but that is usually full of bio-accumulated toxins, plus fish feel pain (so why support the unnecessary harm?) and over-fishing is an environmental catastrophe.
  • Take Chlorella and Cilantro regularly, they are excellent detoxifiers and work together to fully remove toxins like heavy metals from your body.  Chlorella is also a complete protein and the best source of chlorophyll, which has been shown to have many health benefits.

  • Avoid unnecessary pharmaceutical drugs, as well as vaccines that may contain toxins. For most cases, try the natural medicine/treatment before drugs or surgery.

  • Be sure the air in your home/work is as fresh and clean as possible (good circulation, filtered if possible).

  • Drink about 8 glasses of water daily (ideally filtered to remove common contaminants, along with removing fluoride, aluminum & chlorine, all of which are added by the State "for your health and safety").
  • Put a chlorine filter on your shower-head; inhaling chlorine in steam is very unhealthy.
  • Ensure 7-8 uninterrupted hours of sleep daily.  Lack of deep sleep is an epidemic problem causing many negative effects, such as fatigue, blurry vision, irritability, trouble with simple tasks, depression, and memory loss.

  • Brush and floss your teeth daily (non-fluoride toothpaste).  Don't use mouthwash products like Listerine that contain toxic ingredients; try using a Licorice Root & Calendula (Marigold) (both natural anti-microbials) tincture instead as a mouthwash.

  • Avoid body-care products, household cleaning products, lawn care products, clothing, furnishing (especially beds/blankets/pillows) that contain toxic ingredients.  Try pure essential oils suited for that instead (many essential oils are also very medicinal too, worthy of research).

  • Definitely consider having a parasite and a systemic-yeast (e.g. candida) cleanse; many legit sources I've come across say parasites and yeast overgrowth are a lot more common than is widely believed, and are the cause of a lot of misdiagnosed (or undiagnosed) illness, like chronic fatigue and various fungal/yeast infections.  The best parasite cleanses use plant-medicine like wormwood, black walnut, cloves, and ginger.  This cleanse can be coupled with a colon cleanse and followed (the order is important) by the kidney cleanse and then the liver cleanse.  For candida natural treatments include using pro-biotics, anti-fungals (like coconut oil or essential oils), and natural enzymes that "digest" fungal cell-walls, while cutting sugar, yeast, gluten and dairy from your diet.

  • Minimize radiation exposure (x-rays at dentist, cell phones, wireless internet, power lines, TV/computers, radon gas, etc.) Don't live anywhere near a nuclear facility.

  • Get regular exercise (at least one hour, three times a week) and stretch your muscles daily.

  • Perform a relaxation exercise (deep/diaphragm breathing, yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, visualization, prayer, etc.) at least 10 minutes each day.

For Women  ---> Breast Cancer Prevention

Women don't need to worry about soybeans, they need to worry about toxic chemicals.  Estrogens, whether natural or artificial, have the ability to "switch on" breast cell growth and turnover.  Both natural and synthetic estrogens dock onto highly specialized receptor sites in breast tissues, which turns on the inbuilt switch for triggering cell division.

Excessive stimulation of these receptor sites from higher levels of synthetic estrogens is one of the main factors behind normal cells turning cancerous, they also make existing cancer cells more aggressive.   While the strength of the breast cell stimulation triggered by synthetic estrogens (a.k.a. xenoestrogens) is generally weaker than that caused by natural hormones, their fat-loving nature in combination with the high percentage of fat tissue in breasts means that xenoestrogens are now present in breast tissue in levels hundreds of times greater than the natural hormones they mimic. In addition, women's bodies also appear to lack the ability to remove many xenoestrogens from breast cells once they have docked on (unlike with natural estrogens), due to their widely varying forms; because of this, the breast cells end up getting falsely stimulated twenty-four hours a day. 

A vast number of chemicals are now known to mimic the effect of natural estrogens; from those found in pesticides and plasticicizers, to common foods and personal care products.  Due to the major extent in which xenoestrogens have crept into virtually every aspect of our lives, our modern environment has been likened to living in a sea of artificial estrogens.

While you may think that this ability of chemicals to mimic estrogen is largely accidental, in some instances this could not be further from the truth.   For example the plastic known as Bisphenol A was first developed in the 1930's as a potential synthetic form of estrogen.

Another chemical that turns compounds into xenoestrogens is the element chlorine.  This chemical, used as a weaponized gas in the First World War, is now found in most people's tap water, supposedly to "purify" it!  Chlorine is also found in a large number of synthetic products, all of which, along with the water women drink and bathe in, directly cause breast cancer. The chlorine in tap water also reacts with some of the other substances usually present in the water to form trihalomethanes, compounds linked to breast cancer.

So to protect yourself, put a chlorine filter on your shower/tub/sink, try to use only 100% natural products, eat only organic foods, make sure your melatonin levels are normal, and tell your "representatives" to stop putting chlorine (and fluoride, also linked to cancer growth, among other health-damaging effects) in the water and use non-toxic purification methods instead, and stop approving all these toxic chemicals for use in consumer products. (But don't hold your breath waiting for them to do any of that, social-systems and the people that enforce them are inherently toxic and so produce after their kind; we wouldn't have all these cancer-causing chemicals in our lives if social-systems didn't exist in the first place.)

Another thing women should be very cautious of, and I'd say avoid altogether, is mammograms; the radiation from them can actually cause breast cancer.  Here's more info on that:
