Lesson 18. Calcium

Because I'm an eater, a teacher, and a cook, I look to experts for advice on these matters.
In this lesson, you will learn how to calculate your protein requirements.  (From Lesson Y in the eBooklet Page 17) 

Since many people eat animals “just because they need their protein”, I thought I’d show you how to calculate your own approximate protein requirement by using the formula provided by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. In addition to learning about how much protein you really need to be healthy, you will also learn that plant protein is the best. For now, here's the formula so you can calculate your own plant protein requirements:  

Body weight X 0.36 ~ Number of grams of protein recommended daily 
So for me, I need to eat about 50 grams of protein a day.
One gram of lentils is about the size of a quarter. 
 One gram of dried lentils gives about 7 grams of protein. 
So I need to eat about 7 quarter-sizes of lentils every day.
