Basic Cooking Tools Stove Freezer Blender of some kind (Spice, Hamilton Beach, Cuisinart) Pots, pans, bowls General utensils such as pairing knives, potato scraper, ladles, spoons, spatulas Whisk Strainer, tulle fabric (pink cloth in this picture), or cheesecloth for plant milks Mortar and pestle Double boiler (I have two pots rigged up that function as my double boiler.) Microwave Dry grinder such as a blender like Spice or other Pressure Cooker Slow-Cooker Rice cooker Electric fry pan Muffin pan Most of these things can be bought at thrift stores. The only thing I would recommend buying new is the pressure cooker. Buy a pressure cooker next time there’s money in the budget. You’ll be amazed at your improved cooking time because of the pressure cooker. Your repertoire of dishes will grow.
