Learning Lunches

The School had its first learning lunch on Sunday, January 31, 2016.

The task was to sample vegan South Indian food and think about ways to westernize the spices in the dishes. The goal of the school is to build a menu of vegan recipes and cooking lessons based on South Indian cuisine which is full of whole grains and vegetables. We hope to build a menu of dishes that would appeal to children in school cafeterias, to those who patronize soup kitchens, to those who live in shelters, and to those who provide food for disaster relief efforts. The participants were sent home with a packet of your typical South Indian ingredients. I hope to have everyone over to my house for a cooking demo.
