Faux meat: Spaghetti and Meaty-Tasting, Tomato Sauce

Spaghetti and meaty-tasting vegan sauce. Cost is about $3 for two people.

YouTube Video

Time to eat: 20 minutes

1/2 pack of ground crumbles (about 6 ounces) for two people
1 medium onion, diced
1 small can tomato paste
3 tablespoons oil
Italian seasonings
Spaghetti (some whole grain spaghetti that does NOT have egg whites or any other animal products - read the label)

Optional ingredients: Olives, green peppers.

1. Fry onions and other veggies and your Italian seasonings in oil (See lesson on What's your "base"?)
2. In the same pan, fry veggie crumbles to taste (fry as little or as much as you like
since there's no bacteria from blood that needs to be cooked to a certain temperature)
3. Pour in tomatoe paste and fry lightly to introduce a little caramelized taste
4. Once everything is fried enough to your liking, pour in 3 cans of tap water and stir and let simmer on medium
5. Adjust seasonings now - salt to taste
6. In a separate pot, boil 3 quarts of water
7. CAREFULLY put spaghetti into water and let boil until done - about 7 minutes
(I use about a quarter round amount of dried spaghetti per person)
8. Once spaghetti is done, put on a plate and drizzle a little oil over top then ladle your sauce on top

This is one of the many brands of vegan grounds that we enjoy.
