Lesson 49. Moong (mung) bean recipes

Several of the cooking demos in the moong dal (another word for beans) videos use a pressure cooker. I would generally not use a pressure cooker with moong because it cooks in 20 minutes or less in a regular pot on the stove top. Improvise the spices with your own since you won't have most of these spices. 

 
I wouldn't bother taking the foam off.

For this dish, you don't need to soak the lentils and you don't need a pressure cooker. Also use your own spices. Moong goes well with foxtail millet or rice. It shows you how versatile moong dal is.
