Thunderbird - Faculty/Staff Google Apps Account

    1.  From the Thunderbird menu bar, select Options/Account Settings...



    2. Lower left of the Account Settings window click on "account Actions" and then Click "Add Mail Account". 


    3.  Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the Your Name field
         Enter your e-mail address.  This is your eID+@vcu.edu
         Enter your eID password. 
         Click Continue


    4.  Click Manual config


         Incoming IMAP 
         Server hostname: imap.gmail.com 
         Port 993
         SSL  SSL/TLS

         Outgoing SMTP
         Server hostname: smtp.gmail.com 
         Port 587
         SSL  Autodetect

         Select Re-test
         You will see The following settings were found by probing the given server
