Stockade Post - Mattheus

This artifact is a stockade post sample, it is around a foot long and is very damaged. This stockade post was one of the original parts of the stockade of the fort, before burning down. It was a wooden wall that used logs to made posts, king of like a giant fence. It was used by everyone as a means of protection from enemies and even could be used for other purposes. It also supported the Bastion. The stockade was used to mark the barrier of the fort, however after the US army took over the fort was accidentally burnt down. And when it burnt down, so did the stockade. The stockade fits a lot of categories such as defense, technology, conflict, and even Human Impact on The Environment. It fits most of these categories because it was made of wood from the surrounding areas, it was used to protect the fort, and showed what modern technology looked like with building.
