Spigot - Jonathan

This artifact is a spigot. It is 1 ¾ inches tall, 5 ¾ inches in length, and ⅞ inches wide. It’s grey in color, and has text on one of its sides. Since it is made of brass, it was likely used by the upper class due to the higher value of the material. Also, since plumbing wasn’t at the fort, it would’ve likely been used in accordance with barrels or kegs. It’s meaning wasn’t likely intrinsic, at best being an heirloom to whoever owned it. Archaeological themes that apply to this artifact include; “Technology / Technological Change” due to the spigot being made of an alloy (brass), which requires some level of technology; and “Socio-economics / Class” due to brass being a more valuable material at the time, meaning the lower class wouldn’t likely be able to afford it.
