Roman Brick - Colton

This is a roman brick, that is a salmon color, and it is made out of clay. There is a paw print on the side of the brick it just looks like little black dots. This was used to build buildings and houses. It is slightly deteriorated and very fragile. Most people would have used bricks because most people lived in brick houses. It is approximately 12 inches long by 12 inches wide by 2 and quarter inches tall. This probably didn’t have any sentimental value because it was just a common brick used for building. The archaeological themes are class and exploration because not everyone could afford to live in in brick houses and it shows exploration because it had to travel across the Atlantic Ocean and possibly even the Pacific Ocean. It was used from 1829 to 1860.
