This artifact is a Padlock. It was from the 1800’s and it was created in Scandinavia. Almost the entire world used it because it protected their personal belongings or buildings of some sort. The people who made this obviously wanted their things and other people's things to be safe. Locks have shown technological change by evolving into the locks we have today. The Padlock is made of completely metal. It has a rusted look on the outside and it looks like most of it was deteriorated. This lock is bigger than most of the ones we use now. In that sense it was also used to protect bigger things. This was one of the many ways that the fort kept their things safe. |
