Jar Lid - Asaf

This artifact is a Bear Grease Jar lid. It was used to hold hair products. It was small,(1.5 cm height and 7.5 cm diameter) and made out of pottery. It could mean that they could be more upper class because it cost money and it is not a necessity. It was also likely that it was a man’s because men use hair gel more often than women do, but it still could of been a woman's. It also shows the technology change between now and then because it shows how much plastic was used when it got invented and how it took over pottery because plastic is very cheap. It also is most likely an adults because it was made for beards. It also shows that we were already trading with farther away places because it was made in London.
