Bone Ladle - Jace


This artifact is a bone ladle, it was used be the Iroquois and was brought to Fort Vancouver. The bone ladle is made out of bone, and is dark tan and brown. It is rough with some carved out lines on the handle. It was used as a utensil and, unit of measure, and as a religious item. The owner could have believed in the religion the Iroquois made so he used this ladle. The Iroquois carved these bone ladles for their religion. Carving the bone ladles were part of their culture because it was part of their religion. A ladle is used to eat with at spiritual ceremonies, so it had an effect on their diet.
