VanderCook College of Music
I am a student at VanderCook College of Music working towards a Bachelor of Music Education degree. My major instrument is the violin, but I have also found a new love for trumpet. I hope one day to teach children at the elementary and middle school levels. Before enrolling at VanderCook, I was a student at Streamwood High School. While there I played violin in the orchestra, also sang with the choir and marched with the marching band in the color guard.
I realize that music would be apart of my life in one way or another in the 8th grade. I heard about VanderCook my freshman year from my orchestra director, Michael Mayer. It is thanks to him and my other music directors that I realize I wanted to become a music educator. Music to me is another language that enable us to communicate to one another. I cannot wait to get out into the teaching world and inspire children to succeed, like my director did to me.
I plan to complete the BMEd degree in the spring of 2014. You may view my complete resume here.
