Economic Empowerment Coalition (EEC)

Education & advocacy regarding workers and living wage
The Economic Empowerment Coalition (EEC) began in the wake of the Vanderbilt Living Wage Movement (2005 and following) to invite the Vanderbilt Divinity School community to think and act theologically in response to issues of economic injustice.

EEC continues this work by: educating and raising awareness about issues of poverty, workers’ rights, and labor issues in the Vanderbilt and greater Nashville communities; advocating for a living wage and just employment conditions for all Vanderbilt employees; and mobilizing people of faith around the aforementioned issues by standing in solidarity with those in poverty.

The Economic Empowerment Coalition sponsors a variety of educational, community building, and action-oriented events.  Please contact one of the members of the Leadership Collective for more information or to get involved.
