Induction Ceremonies

2014-2015 Induction Ceremony
On Monday, October 20, 2014 there were 22 new members inducted into the Beta Tau Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi.  The new and current members went through the initiation process that was led by the four executive board members and Dr. Willhite.  The members of KDP were honored to listen to Dr. Matthew Thomas discuss the importance of being smart, strong, and silly in his wonderful keynote speech.  Information on t-shirts, upcoming volunteer opportunities, and educational trips to Arizona and London was presented at the end of the meeting.

2013-2014 Induction Ceremony
The Beta Tau Chapter (UW-L) of Kappa Delta Pi inducted 26 new members on Monday October 21st, 2013, adding to the over 1000 members inducted since 1930. Sheila Wirkus provided the keynote address and spoke about the difference we will be making as future educators.  She discussed the need to reach out to our students and find common ground with them so that we can build relationships.  She also told a story about a student who she helped who went on to become a teacher.  The meeting was wrapped up with voting on this year's t-shirt.

2012-2013 Induction Ceremony
The Beta Tau Chapter (UW-L) of Kappa Delta Pi inducted 17 new members on Saturday October 20,2012, adding to the over 1000 members inducted since 1930. Kappa Delta Pi, is an International Honor Society in Education, and provides professional development/services and opportunities for personal enrichment and scholarships to its 95 current active members.
