The Beta Tau Chapter (UW-L) of Kappa Delta Pi inducted 26 new members on Monday October 21st, 2013, adding to the over 1000 members inducted since 1930. Sheila Wirkus provided the keynote address and spoke about the difference we will be making as future educators. She discussed the need to reach out to our students and find common ground with them so that we can build relationships. She also told a story about a student who she helped who went on to become a teacher. The meeting was wrapped up with voting on this year's t-shirt.
Story Telling Festival
The Beta Tau Chapter (UW-L) of Kappa Delta Pi inducted 17 new members on Saturday October 20,2012, adding to the over 1000 members inducted since 1930. Kappa Delta Pi, is an International Honor Society in Education, and provides professional development/services and opportunities for personal enrichment and scholarships to its 95 current active members.
State Road Event
The State Road service opportunity occurred on Saturday, October 27 at the State Road Elementary School forest between the hours of 9:30 and 12:30. Two Kappa Delta Pi Beta Tau chapter members attended and helped other volunteers spread mulch on the trails of the school forest so that it was easier for the children to maneuver. After a hard days work, about half of the trail was completed!
