Tutoring services for the writing and research needs of UW anthropology undergraduate and graduate students.

Welcome to the home page of the UW Anthropology Writing and Research Center. Our mission is to help all anthropology students at UW to become better writers and researchers. We are experienced graduate students in the Department of Anthropology who offer free one-on-one tutoring for students by appointment. We focus on helping students sharpen their writing and research skills, and we are happy to discuss students' current assignments for anthropology classes. We are not, however, an editing or proofreading service, so students interested in visiting with us should expect to discuss their writing process and their ideas during tutoring sessions.

Tutoring sessions are held in the AWRC office in Denny 423, and are scheduled on an appointment or drop-in basis.

Students interested in scheduling an appointment should visit our Schedule an Appointment page. To ensure that you are seen, it is highly recommended that you make an appointment. Drop-ins are welcome if no prior appointment is scheduled.

Tutoring sessions run every 40 minutes. Expect a single session to last 35 minutes at most. If you need more time, feel free to sign up for multiple sessions in a row!
