TYLA Mock Trial Competition

About the Competition:

The National Trial Competition (NTC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious mock trial competitions in the United States. NTC is co-sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA). Every ABA-accredited law school in the country is invited to compete in this annual competition. The top 2 teams from each of the 14 regional tournaments advance to the championship rounds in Texas.
The TYLA problem alternates between criminal and civil law. The TYLA mock trial experience mirrors a real-life trial in that witnesses are provided by the regional host. Shortly before each round, TYLA competitors meet with their witnesses for the first time.
