With joint participation of community members and health care professionals, IKAN is developing educational materials about Kidney Disease, dialysis, kidney transplant and organ donation among African Americans.

We have produced a series of videos, and a comic book for youth is in production.

Viewers of this video series learn about treatment options from people who live with kidney disease. The video highlights patients, family members and doctors sharing their personal experiences. Filming took place around the Seattle, WA area including the University of Washington Medical Center, Northwest Kidney Centers and at the VA Puget Sound Hospital.

The program is 43 minutes long and organized into twelve sections so that viewers can easily choose their area(s) of interest.  Chapters include: an overview of kidney disease, treatment options, an extensive chapter on transplant, peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis at home and in-center, diet and finally inspiration from the interviewees.
