Born from a few GPAs discussing the need for support and development opportunities for graduate advisors, GPAA was created in 2015 as an official professional organization serving the Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma campuses. The purpose of GPAA is to define a space for graduate and professional advisors to collaborate, facilitate the sharing of best practices in graduate advising, represent graduate advisors to larger constituents, and identify and implement areas for professional development.

Be sure to start or renew your GPAA membership for 2017-2018!  The current membership cycle lasts until June 30th, 2018 and dues are prorated for mid-year joins.  Find more information on our membership page!

GPAA facilitates informal opportunities for GPAs to come together to learn, ask questions, and share best practices on a variety of topics relating to advising, student engagement, orientation, and more!

  • We are thrilled to announce that a GPAA representative has a permanent seat on the Graduate School's Policy Review Committee! This will help ensure that GPAs' voices and perspectives are heard by the Graduate School during policy reviews and development. For 2017-2018, the GPAA representative is Marissa Heringer in the Department of Biology.
