Shawn Drew

University of Washington


Shawn Drew is a Senior Application Systems Engineer for University of Washington Information Technology. He oversees the integration of Advance with other UW administrative systems and is a data integration expert. Shawn previously served as the Director of Information Management for UW Advancement.






Kelly Hilst



Kelly Hilst serves as the Communications & Grants Manager for KEXP, a Seattle-based non-profit radio station that serves a worldwide audience through KEXP.ORG and a variety of social media channels. As a member of KEXP’s Development Team, she focuses on engaging the organization’s 13,000 donors through creative communication efforts. Kelly has five years of experience as a fundraising professional, and her background includes promotions, marketing, events management, and donor outreach. Kelly is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in English Literature.



Rebecca Whitham

Woodland Park Zoo


Rebecca Whitham works as Public Relations Coordinator for the non-profit Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington. In her work, Rebecca uses traditional and social media tactics to communicate the zoo’s mission and activities to regional, national and international audiences touched by the zoo’s global work in animal welfare, wildlife conservation and science education. Rebecca holds a Master’s degree in Museology from the University of Washington.

Joel Larson

University of Washington


Joel serves as the Institutional Advancement Reporting Manager for Advancement at the University of Washington. He provides reports on fundraising trends and progress to the UW Foundation and the Board of Regents, as well as providing comparative data for national surveys and reports. In his eight-plus years at the UW, Joel has also served as Network Administrator for Advancement implementing many technology initiatives. He holds a Master of Science in Information Management with a concentration in Information Assurance and cyber security. Joel also serves as a Guest Lecturer at the UW Information School teaching database management and information retrieval.
