Digital Scholarship

As a student at Union Theological Seminary, I am committed to incorporating the digital humanities into as much of my scholarship as possible.  Of course, as the founder of The Tech Chaplaincy Institute, I also love weaving technology into every assignment!
Did You Know?

The Digital Humanities were created in the 1940s when an Italian Jesuit priest named Roberto Busa approached a young company named International Business Machines, Inc. (you might have heard of it by its street name IBM) to linguistically analyze the concept of "presence" in the 10 million+ words of Saint Thomas Aquinas' work.

70 years later, the field has grown in leaps and bounds across all the humanities except for its progenitor discipline!  My hope is that my work can inspire others to get back into the game.
