Maddie was born in Lafayette, Indiana but spent her formative years in Seattle, Washington. She graduated with an A.C.S-Certified B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Washington in June of 2021. While there, she worked on the diastereoselective synthesis of Z-alkenes through silver-catalyzed hydroalkylation of terminal alkynes under the direction of Professor Gojko Lalic. In the Fall of 2021, she joined the Krische group at the University of Texas at Austin and is interested in developing synthetic methodologies, as well as novel approaches to the total synthesis of natural products.
